Bode Nashville

We just got back from a long weekend at Bode, which is in a really convenient location. My husband and I shared a clean two-bedroom suite with our daughter and her friend. It had a great kitchenette for light snacks, though the bar downstairs and the breakfast place were available too. Service was excellent, and they replied quickly to my texts and questions. I highly recommend Bode for a Nashville stay.

The coffee and breakfast spot downstairs, Dawn, was super cute and the food was delicious. I didn’t have time to try the little bar beside it, but the fire pits around it were adorable. The hotel was very clean, and the beds and pillows were wonderful and comfortable. The location is great too, about a 12-minute walk to the Ryman, and even less to Bridgestone arena, which we passed on the way. I’d stay again, 10/10.

As a Nashville local, I stayed here during the ice storm, when the Bode extended its hospitality to people without power. They normally don’t allow pets, but made an exception so people could bring theirs. It was a really difficult time that turned into a lovely experience. Everyone on staff was friendly and polite. The bar and market were adorable, and there were beautiful plants everywhere with California vibes and smells. Our two-bedroom apartment was perfectly decorated, with a full kitchen and loads of room to get ready. It’s an ideal walk to Broadway. If you see it available, book it, especially for a family or girls’ trip!

I’ve experienced this place as a bar customer, an outdoor patio concertgoer, and someone sheltering there during a snowstorm after losing power at home. I refused to perish for character development. You walk in and get asked, “Coffee or hotel!?” Sir, why are those the choices? It’s like being asked “therapy or tacos?” Pick a lane. Maybe move the coffee people down the counter, because everyone’s confused and a little scared. The coffee setup is a scam. If you’re staying here, drip coffee is free, which is great. But they’ll charge you $5 unless you know to ask for the complimentary bean water, like you’re negotiating a hostage situation. At check-in I said, “I’d also like a coffee.” Nobody told me that, since I was paying to sleep there, it was on the house. They rang it up and sent me off like a suckkkker! Later I spotted a tiny card in the room saying to ask the coffee shop for free coffee. Why is this a side quest? Why is kindness hidden in the fine print? The audacity. Sure, it’s $5, and it won’t ruin my life, but it completely ruined my vibe. There were broke college kids and budget travelers there, people clearly counting dollars and life choices. Maybe don’t run a coffee gotcha game during a snowstorm. Be kind by default, not only if you know the password. The place itself is honestly fine, a motel that went to art school, with a slightly elevated roadside feel. Everything’s painted black for “aesthetic” reasons, and I respect the commitment. The location is phenomenal, the rooms are clean, and the bedding is GREAT. The pillow did its job, and I slept like someone who’d emotionally given up. Would I stay here again? No, because I own a house down the street. I just didn’t have a generator, and Mother Nature decided to humble me.
