Housekeeping was good, and that’s the only positive thing I can say about my stay. The in-room phone in 213 had no cord connecting it to the phone jack. There was nobody in the office when I went down for breakfast, and there were no eggs or sausage. The waffles and pancakes were premade and left in a bread box. The refrigerator had Danimals yogurt, the sugary kind for kids. I also couldn’t get a signal for the Wi-Fi Days Inn is supposed to provide, so I used my own phone hotspot and data to watch TV. I booked through Priceline.com, then called the front desk five times after landing at Nashville airport. Nobody answered.

We had the worst hotel night we’ve ever had. The property says it’s non-smoking, but the room next to ours filled with smoke all night. The people there stayed up talking loudly, and the walls were so thin it felt like they were in our room. On the other side, there was constant noise that sounded like an adult film shoot. At $100 a night, especially this far from downtown, I expected decent parking and a quiet night without disturbances. We got neither. Honestly, this place shouldn’t charge more than $10 a night, and I still wouldn’t choose to stay there.

I needed somewhere at the last minute, and the rating doesn’t tell the whole story. My room was clean and comfortable, I slept well, and the front desk accommodated my hidden disability. It had a double-decker fridge and a fairly new microwave. If you drive a heavy vehicle, avoid parking by the office because of the slope. This will be my regular stop when I’m too tired to drive home or the weather is bad.

We spent a week here and enjoyed a free hot breakfast every morning. The housekeeping staff were kind about bringing clean towels each day without disturbing us when we were in the room. The office staff were also really nice and made good conversation at check-in and when we came for breakfast. The inside looked recently renovated and amazing, even though the outside still looks like it belongs in the ’90s or 2000s. The reviews don’t do this place justice. I’d call it around 4.5 to 4.8 stars, though the rating options don’t let me choose between four and five. There were just a few minor issues: small marks on the outside of the white fridge, the light by the TV and the standing lamp didn’t work, and the lot had limited spaces that felt too small. People were also double parking when they didn’t need to. The parking issue isn’t staff’s fault, and the other things didn’t affect our vacation. I’d recommend it over staying downtown. Fast food, gas stations, and a Kroger are nearby, and you can still enjoy what Nashville has to offer.

I chose this hotel because I wanted a non-smoking room, but the room I got yesterday smelled strongly of cigarette smoke and had an unpleasant musty odor. It was uncomfortable and unacceptable, especially given the hotel’s non-smoking policy. The room also seemed poorly maintained and unclean. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
