Hampton Inn Bellevue / Nashville-I-40 West

Jessica welcomed us with a genuine smile and got us checked in quickly and efficiently when we stopped for a couple of days in Nashville. Our room was clean, comfortable, and nice. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast is standard fare: sausage, egg, and potato for the hot options, along with waffles, hard-boiled eggs, cereal, and other breads and grains.

I booked and paid through Expedia at least a week before arriving, choosing a king room. At check-in, they gave me two queen beds instead and said my reserved room was out of service. I was told it was Expedia’s fault because they were doing their own thing. I paid for the better room and ended up in a cheaper one. I won’t book at Hampton Inn again.

We had to leave and book another hotel after the shower flooded our bathroom. Water spread well beyond the shower and pooled on the floor, so even with towels down it was slippery and unsafe for my senior mother, who needed a step-in shower for safety and access. When I reported it, the staff didn’t seem surprised, which made it feel like a recurring problem. This room was supposed to be accessible, but the setup didn’t seem safe or meet ADA expectations. We weren’t charged for the full night, but still had to pay a $50 late checkout fee, which felt unfair in the circumstances. Management should address this right away, whether by adding a proper barrier or improving drainage. No guest, especially someone with mobility concerns, should have to deal with this.

The shower switch makes loud farting noises, enough to wake someone who’s asleep. It’s funny, but annoying too. The room was clean apart from a few cobwebs on the ceiling. Towels and sheets were Hilton spec, the bed was firm in a way I liked, and the HVAC worked well. Staff were friendly in a new Nashville sort of way, basically Chicago with boots, hats, and better winters. They’re glad you’re there, but nobody’s hugging anybody. It wasn’t the old Nashville, deep-South, “y’all come in like your cousins got to Me Maw’s first and are waiting to go play” kind of friendly.
