The friendly check-out receptionist asked whether we had our power back and wished me positive vibes when I said we didn’t. I appreciated that. The rest of this stay, during a winter storm emergency after several days without power at our Nashville home, added stress to an already hard situation. We chose La Quinta expecting an affordable, dog-friendly place, but it wasn’t what we’d hoped for. At check-in, as we headed to the elevator, the desk agent tacked on a warning to keep our dogs quiet in this “quiet space.” There was no warmth or acknowledgment of why we were there. Later, dogs were barking around the hotel and a large group of teens were noisy in the halls. Usually that wouldn’t surprise or bother us at La Quinta, but after being singled out, it felt pointed and made me wonder if others got the same reminder. We were assigned the 6th floor with two dogs, and only one slow elevator was running. It was often packed, so we took the stairs for most trips outside in the freezing weather. Our TV also didn’t work. When I called, the response was that none of the TVs worked, and that other guests were apparently streaming on laptops. Nobody mentioned the outage at check-in. After long days dealing with storm damage, being left to sort out entertainment ourselves felt dismissive. There was construction happening too, with drilling and hammering. We had booked in a hurry and missed the small homepage notice. We understand storms put hotels under pressure, but better communication about the TVs and construction, a warmer welcome, and more thoughtful room placement would have helped a lot. We booked somewhere else after this stay.

The highway noise was noticeable, so bring earplugs or try a fan app to help cover it. Even so, I’d definitely stay again. The hotel was newly renovated, still smelled of fresh paint, and was clean. Front desk staff were friendly and accommodating. It’s close to the airport, with a free shuttle from 4:30 a.m. or a 5-10 minute Uber ride. Breakfast is free, and there’s a microwave and coffee maker in the room. The beds were comfortable.

It’s a little far from downtown, so I had to use Uber each time, but the free airport shuttle was handy. For my short weekend in Nashville, the clean, spacious room was comfortable and the front desk staff were nice. Breakfast was good, too. I do wish they’d put a couple of bottles of water in the room. Still good value for the money.

The location was the one real plus, about 10-15 minutes from both the airport and downtown Nashville. The rest of the stay was awful. They’d overbooked king rooms, so we got what they called a luxury suite: two queen beds and a small kitchenette we didn’t use during our three nights. The room was below average at best. Towels had makeup and possibly blood on them, which was gross. The room phone couldn’t even reach the front desk. Two weeks after the stay, I was still waiting on a bank claim because the room charge of nearly $350 went through twice. When I called, staff said a manager had to override it, but each time the manager was supposedly busy with something more important. They promised a call back within an hour and never called. On my third attempt, the front desk told me they couldn’t see the duplicate charge because there are two hotels on the property, La Quinta and Hawthorn Suites, and both had charged me. They said they couldn’t issue the refund, so I’m going through my bank’s claim process, which may take two weeks and depends on the bank’s decision. I paid twice for a dirty, below-average room and couldn’t get help resolving it. The service was awful, and I felt like they were trying to double-book me and take my money. Spend a little extra and stay somewhere else. Do not book here.

This is my first time in Nashville, and I don't understand the bad reviews. The hotel is clean, spacious, and really comfortable, with great value. Broadway is only about 10 minutes away.
