Homewood Suites By Hilton Nashville Downtown The Gulch

We got to the hotel at 7:30 a.m. and could check in right away, which was a very nice surprise. Our room, 1044, was spotless, and the maid service was great. Since it was at the end of a separate hallway in the building’s corner, it was wonderfully quiet. I’ve never slept so well at a hotel. The bed was great, and the room felt roomy thanks to the high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows. There was a full kitchen with a fridge, freezer, stovetop, dishwasher, and sink, plus a separate room for the toilet and shower. Breakfast had some interesting choices and the coffee was delicious. The front desk staff were helpful. Restaurants and shops in the gulch are walkable, and downtown Nashville is about a 15-minute walk. My three-night stay was amazing and I’d stay again.

The valet situation was awful. Around 15-20 cars were broken into during our stay, and nobody told us until we went downstairs for ours. We waited 20 minutes for someone to come to the valet desk, then they disappeared for another 15. We eventually found help and learned our car had been broken into. The hotel accepted no responsibility, and the valet company only gave us a police report to use with our insurance. We were late because of all this. If you leave your car with valet, take valuables out and leave the doors unlocked. Because of the break-ins, I’d come back, but I’d Uber instead of leaving my car there. The hotel itself had a different feel, with darker hallways that suited the place. Rooms had high ceilings, nice furniture, and an ice maker in the fridge, so no trips to the ice machine. I loved the rooms apart from the lack of irons, just steamers, which didn’t work for my professional meeting. Check-in was confusing: you have to go to the 11th floor, but there’s no sign or person at the entrance to tell you. The bar and breakfast area are also on that floor. Brandon, the bartender, was great, my favorite person there besides the TV in the room.

Adam took good care of me when I checked in. I also had a lovely time at the bar, where Graysie, though I’m not sure I have the spelling right, was a sweet bartender and the vibe was great. I liked that the reception desk is on the 11th floor, quite different, with a beautiful view. It was my first visit to TN. Thanks so much for the hospitality.

Really liked having a kitchen, and the hotel was pretty clean. There was a full-size fridge with a freezer, which was perfect for a breastfeeding and pumping mom. It also had a two-eye stovetop, a sink, and basic cooking items.
