During the ice storm, this Marriott became a lifeline for me. My home for three weeks wasn't safe, but the power here stayed on, and they let me bring my emotional support animals. They even have rooms set aside for pets. The free breakfast helped, too. The staff at the front desk, in the kitchen, and on the cleaning team were kind and understanding when I was going through a devastating time. The laundry, gymnastics, and pool also made it feel a bit like a chilly vacation instead of being hunkered down. I'm so grateful to everyone here.

I've been here since 28DEC25, and today is 22FEB25. I'm an Ambassador Elite member and have stayed at plenty of hotels, but my time at this one has become miserable. I'm here for work because this is the hotel I was assigned, and if I could leave, I would. The bad has outweighed the good, so I wouldn't recommend staying here. Most of the front desk team are helpful, but one woman on the morning shift is rude. She ignores me when I say hello or good morning, so I eventually stopped trying. Housekeeping makes the bed and replaces towels, but doesn't clean anything else. The TV remotes don't work, and the internet is terrible for multiplayer games on a console or PC. IT tells you to restart your system, then insists it's a device problem and says there's nothing more they can do. There's no camera coverage in the parking garage, so you're on your own if something happens to your car. The security guard was also a problem: at 0400, as I was leaving for a 12-hour shift, he blocked me and said I couldn't stay anymore because my Mustang was loud. I'm tired of this place.

The staff here really make it feel like home when I'm in town for work. They say hello as you come in or pass the desk, check that everything's okay, and are always helpful with questions. A big shout-out to MIKE the manager and the sweet young lady on the overnight shift who helped when I had a hairdryer emergency. Kudos to the whole team. It's a good spot if you need to work in Downtown Nashville and want to be near the action without staying right in it. West End has wonderful restaurants, and Broadway is an $8-$10 Uber ride away. Parking is covered and multi-level. My room was spacious, with a BIG fridge and great water pressure. This is my special little hotel when I'm working in town.

The employees were super nice and accommodating, but the hotel needs a lot of attention. The furniture was scratched and beat up, tape held the bedside lamp shade in place, and black duct tape was keeping the carpet together. The living room was so narrow that opening the sofa bed was a struggle, and its mattress was awful. We couldn't adjust the locked room thermostat to get comfortable. There were dogs everywhere, more like a pet hotel than the one or two you sometimes see while traveling. I'm allergic, so that was hard. Breakfast was mediocre at best and the coffee was terrible. I'm a loyal Marriott member, but I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

We had a clean, comfortable stay at Residence Inn Nashville Vanderbilt/West End from December 20-23, in a city-view room on the 5th floor. Breakfast had good options, and it was handy to use the gym and pool at the connected SpringHill Suites. The view wasn't much to look at, though, and street noise came through a lot, especially at night. It's a decent choice for the location and breakfast, as long as you aren't expecting a great view or a quiet room.
