The location is the main good point: it's close enough to downtown nightlife and also near historic spots like the Grand Ole Opry, OpryMills mall, and the beautiful Opryland hotel. They need to update every room, not just some, because which one you get seems like a luck of the draw. In an older room, staff have to choose whether the unit is set for air conditioning or heat, based on the season. But Tennessee weather can be unpredictable: December and Christmas don't mean it can't be 76 degrees outside and need AC. Getting maintenance to reconfigure the unit takes an order, and it probably won't happen during your stay.

Booking through a travel site gets you great rates. Going directly through the hotel or even Choice Rewards costs so much that it's hard to believe they charge that for a 2-star hotel. My husband and I were told by paramedics and law enforcement about frequent police visits and an ambulance showing up for possible overdoses. The location works well for the airport, and it's about 15min from everything you'd want to see in Nashville.

Our first room was disgusting, smelled bad, and had AC that didn't work. The next room was a little better and the AC worked, but it was still gross and had cockroaches. We didn't stay. I asked for a refund and got only one of the 2 nights back. More than a week later, the money still hadn't appeared on my card. When I called, the woman said she had to wait for the manager to return on the 28th of Jan. Horrible place to stay. I'd give it 0 stars if I could.

I've never been in a worse room. The heat was out, a bathroom light was falling from the ceiling, bugs were on the wall, and there were questionable stains on the bed. It was dirty and didn't look as if anyone had cleaned it between guests. I might have put up with the loud noise, people smoking outside the room, and the not-so-great neighborhood if the room had been decent. Spend a little extra and avoid this place.
