Scottish Inn - Nashville

No WiFi or ice machine, and the receptionist was rude, yelling when I asked about the mouldy toilet paper. The ice bucket was filthy, and the fire alarm had no batteries. There was a TV, but the remote seemed to be just a prop, so don't expect to use it. The price may sound tempting, but it's the only thing this hell has going for it. The pictures show cockroaches, something I haven't seen in decades, and even the toilet paper was mouldy inside its wrapper. Avoid this place.

We were moving from renting to buying and had to stay here for three weeks. The only rooms they had were smoking rooms, and they were so nasty. There were large water bugs, about two inches long. One chair was torn and too dirty to sit on, and the comforter had a burn hole. I put a towel on the floor so you could see what it looked like before using it, but I used my own towels. Sorry, but it is what it is. I'm glad to be out of there. I'd recommend bringing your own towels.

The neighborhood felt like a total hellhole, and at $100 a night this place was only $20 less than clean, safe hotels with basics like a coffee pot. I was in town for a job interview and stayed here because the Comfort Inn on White Bridge Rd was booked and I needed somewhere nearby. The manager was rude at check-in. The lobby was locked both when I arrived and when I checked out the next morning. On the short walk to my room, I heard two gunshots, then what became the first of many sirens. My room was disgusting, with soiled carpets, burn holes in the comforter, and no iron or blow dryer. I was exhausted and slept with the dirty mini fridge against the flimsy door. I'm no diva, but there are basic cleanliness standards, and this hotel doesn't even seem to try to meet them.

I don't like leaving bad reviews, but this place set off every alarm bell I had. You enter through security glass and a window, and after quoting me a rate, they said there was a “malfunction” and they could only take cash. The man suggested I go across the street to the gas station ATM, even though I had cash. I've stayed in plenty of sketchy places, but this is where I draw the line. With all the construction in Nashville, I doubt it'll last long. Unfortunate.
