Sonder The Hideaway

We arrived late and left early, but everything was perfect. The property had what we needed, except for a washcloth. I can’t wait to return when we have more time.

We had a good-value trip and would be happy to come back. The superior 4bd was in a cool area, with comfortable beds and furniture. A couple of things kept it from being five stars: although the building is new, the bathrooms already look like they’ve seen better days. It’s on a main road beside bars and restaurants, so there was quite a bit of nighttime noise, which could be a problem for some.

It was clean, comfortable, and well organized, and we had no trouble finding a parking spot in the property lot. The shower is a little awkward because it only has a half door, so water sprays outside. The wall shelf is loose and slanted, and things you put on it are likely to fall. Even with those issues, we had a great stay and wouldn’t hesitate to return.

My mother booked 916 Main St through VRBO, and since nothing was listed at that address, I’m leaving this review here. From what I’ve seen, Sonder gets consistent negative feedback across its Nashville properties. At 916 Main, the bathroom floors and kitchen were grimy. There were just two bath towels, no replacements or washcloths, and they looked used. The sheets also looked clearly used and were Super 8 quality. The building carries sound, so expect to hear neighbors above or below. We also suspected bugs in the bed and saw roaches around the kitchen and outside the porch. Customer service said the only thing they could help with was the towels, which they said would arrive within 24 hours. For the price and the way it was advertised, this was an atrocious experience. I’d recommend booking an actual hotel for the same price. I can’t say enough bad things about Sonder or its lack of support.
