The Inn at Opryland, A Gaylord Hotel

The indoor pool was a hit with the kids, the restaurant was decent, and the staff were friendly. Our exterior room was fine, though the bathroom felt like one on a small cruise ship. The hotel has clearly been remodeled, and it’s handy for Opryland. We stayed because Opryland was booked and the agent suggested this sister location. The shower never got properly hot, only lukewarm, even though the sink water got very hot. We also had to walk back from Opryland on Sunday night because we didn’t know when the last shuttle left. They should post all pickup and drop-off times somewhere. One driver always announced when she’d be returning to Opryland, the mall, and the hotel, and I’m not sure why that couldn’t be expected of all the drivers.

The rooms were comfortable, and the location made it easy to walk to plenty of things. There’s also a complimentary shuttle to Opryland, and the Uber pickup spot is convenient. Still, it felt like somewhere to sleep and little else. No coffee or breakfast, and an $8 bottle of water in the lobby felt steep for what it was. For a Marriott, the stay was just okay. I’m not sure I’d come back.

The pool and hot tub made the stay better, and the room was clean and comfortable. Ours was beside both the road and a hallway, so it was noisy. Also, the boat ride and huge plant-filled atrium in the photos belong to the Opry across the street, not this hotel.

The staff were wonderful, and the remodeled rooms felt clean and cozy. There are good food choices at the hotel, with more places to eat within walking distance. It’s a comfortable place to stay near the airport.
