TownePlace Suites by Marriott Nashville Midtown

The check-in interaction left the worst impression. After a drive of more than eight hours, I was exhausted and ready to get settled. I'd chosen this hotel over cheaper options partly because, as a Marriott Gold member, I expect a consistent level of hospitality. Finding the second-floor check-in desk was already confusing. Then I had to figure out parking in an adjacent lot the hotel doesn't own, pay by QR code, and haul all our luggage back. Walking between the lot and hotel after dark didn't feel particularly safe. I waited behind another guest at the desk. The associate checking him in was warm and enthusiastic, explaining the amenities, breakfast, drinks, gym, and more. He asked several times if she needed his ID, and she said no. When it was my turn, the greeting was much colder, and the first thing she asked for was my ID. I said it seemed strange after the interaction I'd just seen, and she awkwardly tried to explain it away. I have no problem showing ID at check-in; it was the clear difference in tone and treatment between guests that felt uncomfortable. The room was mediocre and didn't feel clean. There was hair in the shower. Between that, the awkward parking arrangement, and the poor customer service, I wouldn't stay here again.

The rooms were nice and clean, and the hotel itself was nice, though a bit different. There's no parking except valet, which costs $50 a night. Shoutout to Tyler from valet for helping me out when I checked out.

The room was spacious and had a full kitchen, so guests can make simple meals there. Leon at the front desk made sure we had what we needed when we checked in. Q from the valet team was friendly and patiently explained all the parking details. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

We had a great time over the Thanksgiving holidays and would stay again. Everything was close enough without being right in the middle of the downtown crowd. Our room was basic, but had what we needed. The valet staff were really nice and prompt with the car, whether it was Keevin or someone else on duty. They always greeted us warmly when we left and came back. I'd recommend the place to friends and family. Until next time, Nashville!
