TownePlace Suites Nashville Airport

The front desk clerks were friendly and professional, but after four nights I left feeling this hotel needs a serious refresh. The carpet by the elevator was very dirty, and the recent paint in the hall had stains where the walls needed repair. Our room faced the road, so loud cars and trucks kept passing, with planes overhead as well. Several things in the room were a hassle. The deadbolt only caught if I repeatedly pushed down the inside handle, which was noisy and took a while each time. One entry light was out, there was an iron but no ironing board, and the shower curtain was much shorter than the tub, so we had to hold it closed while showering. The Netflix TV had no working internet connection. I reported that three times. At first, the clerk blamed my phone's wireless, then acknowledged it was a third party issue and said they'd call for a repair. The next morning they had no record of my first report. The following evening, they said they knew the TV wasn't working and would give me points, but I haven't seen any. It never worked during our stay. They replaced the bulb, but none of the other problems were fixed. I haven't had good luck with TownePlace Suites and probably won't use them again, even as a lifetime Titanium member. For one night, you might be fine here. For a longer stay, there are better options.

The rooms get hot, and the Verdant HVAC controls don't let you turn on a fan just to move the air. Staff were kind enough to find a floor fan for me, but one may not always be available. Guest comfort while sleeping shouldn't be sacrificed to save a little on energy, and I hope the owners reconsider Verdant. The hotel itself is nice and the staff are really great. I'd enjoy staying again if they sort out the airflow.

The room was spacious and comfortable, and I liked having a kitchenette with a fridge and dishwasher. There's plenty of food nearby, and the airport isn't far. I'd stay again if I'm in the area.

The bare minimum is a door that locks, and mine was left unlocked all day while I was out. The manager tried to say I hadn't locked it properly, but the chief engineer told me he regularly closes doors when their locks don't engage. So the issue is the doors, not the customers. Getting into the room was a problem from the start, too. My first keys didn't work, and neither did the replacement set for the new room they gave me. I had to call maintenance from the elevator phone to get someone to open the door. He gave me a roundabout story about a storm that had come through. I'm not a fancy hotel person, but don't stay here. Spend a little extra somewhere else. You deserve it.
