The Union Station Nashville Yards, Autograph Collection

The building's architecture is beautiful, and the views are lovely. We could walk to the fun parts of the city, and the restaurant was great too. I used the hotel for a work event for the first time, and we're booking it again next year. Live music in the lobby in the afternoons was just the cherry on top. The bar was great, and the staff gave top-tier, white-glove service. Everyone, from the bellhop and door staff to the event coordinators, worked incredibly hard and was amazing.

The staff were understanding and very helpful, but I checked out after just one night because the freight trains on the active tracks beside the hotel kept blaring their horns through the night and made sleep impossible. There were also maintenance problems: visible wall cracks, an uneven bathroom floor that made the door catch, and no overhead light by the toilet at the end of the spacious bathroom. For an Autograph Collection property, that was disappointing. The lobby, with its grand chandeliers, dark wood, and barrel-vaulted stained-glass ceiling, is stunning, though.

The ground-floor room had a patio we could step out onto, and the room itself was really nice. What meant the most, though, was how considerate the staff were. My son had dropped a Croc in the parking lot, and someone brought it inside after night checking so he could find it in lost and found. Gabriel in Valet service, Veena in the lobby, and Chris the bellman deserve a mention. Thanks for making our vacation memorable.

The hotel is beautiful, and the valet team was excellent. The bartenders were also friendly and attentive, making our evenings enjoyable. But our room wasn't clean when we arrived, and although we promptly told staff, the promised follow-up and some form of compensation never came. Jessica was handling the issue, but there was no update, resolution, or acknowledgment after our first conversation. I also contacted the General Manager directly and got no response. As Titanium Elite Marriott members who've traveled with Marriott around the world, we're loyal to the brand, which made the lack of accountability especially disappointing. Cleanliness, communication, and guest care should be held to a higher standard at an Autograph Collection property. The hotel's recovery fell well short of what we expect from Marriott, and that was the worst part of the stay.
