Super 8 by Wyndham Buena Vista

The hot tub was nice, and the staff were friendly. Our room was clean and had plenty of supplies, but that bed was the worst thing I’ve ever tried to sleep on. Neither of us got much rest. It had one fuzzy blanket and what looked like a curtain on top, nowhere near a proper blanket for two people to share in winter. Breakfast was the usual continental spread, nothing special.

We were in town for a concert and had arranged late checkout both on the website and with the morning front desk. I have a photo of the approval. But when Gary came on duty, he woke us by calling at 11:45, then made us leave without showering while threatening extra charges. He didn’t care about the online approval or my gold status and told me so directly. At check-in, we’d already found permanent stains on the furniture in our small room, cracks in the toilet bowl, and a shower curtain too short to stay inside the tub. The place is grossly overpriced, too. The night before, my Choice Hotels membership got me a room at a Comfort Inn in Boulder for half the price of this dump. I’ve been a Wyndham gold member for a long time, and this was a huge disappointment. Gary was a complete jerk. Under the new ownership, this place doesn’t deserve to be associated with Wyndham. Zero stars. Wouldn’t recommend it or stay again.

A nice little hotel, with a pool, a good breakfast, and very clean rooms. Gary at the front desk was friendly and helpful. The only reason I’m giving it 3 stars instead of 5 is that a shirt we left in the room disappeared. The front desk helped us look, but it seems clear that someone took it. We called as soon as we got home, and we’re sure the shirt was there when we left. I’d stay again, but make sure you don’t leave anything behind at checkout.

The beds were clean and comfortable, and the rooms were pretty good. The shower was nice too. Both mornings, breakfast was good and had a nice range of options. The pool and hot tub worked well and were nice, though a bit dirty.
