Carole was such a warm, generous host, and a real class act. She’s put a lot of care into making the inn feel comfortable and homey. I’m a big supporter of the arts, so I appreciated her using the inn as a gallery for local artists. Carole paints too, and her paint and sip party made the weekend fun. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and well maintained, with plenty of fresh linens. Our bed was comfortable, with a plush comforter. Breakfast was delicious, and there’s a snack and coffee/tea station stocked around the clock. I highly recommend staying at Red Velvet Inn.

The breakfast was wonderful, and we had everything we wanted and needed. Carol was incredibly kind and did so much to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The house is a gorgeous historic home with high-end amenities, and it’s close to downtown shopping and restaurants. Such a delightful stay.

Byron even offered to take us to the downtown shops after checkout, then pick us up when we finished. We’d already checked out, but they still treated us like guests. We’ll be back, even though we live less than an hour away. Thanks for welcoming us into your home at The Red Velvet Inn. Breakfast was great, and the coffee came from a Veteran owned roaster. Before that, Byron gave us four free rides in the six passenger golf cart, including a drop-off at the Texas Birthday Bash entry gate. He also had good suggestions for shopping, drinks, and food. Carole had answered my many questions during the week before our stay. When we arrived, we were greeted at the front door, shown around, then went up to the Gold Room. There’s covered parking, with two spots available on a first come basis. The room had a large bed plus a beautiful twin, a sitting area with a microwave and mini fridge, and a balcony just outside the door. The bathroom was lovely, with high-end towels, lotions, shampoo, and more. The house is full of beautiful art and furnishings. It felt like being welcomed into a dear friend’s home. Carole and Byron really take the guest experience to another level.

The owner was amazing, helpful without ever getting in the way, and made sure we had a delightful stay. We’d love to return if we’re in the area, hopefully with time to try breakfast. We had a lovely stay, though a couple things were tricky for us as older guests. The stairs are steep and narrow, which makes sense in an old house, but we’d have chosen a downstairs room if we’d thought of it. The bathtubs are beautiful but so tall that we couldn’t get in. Our short stay made it possible to work around that. The upstairs front porch was a favorite. We spent evenings there with snacks and wine, then slept on super comfy beds. The towels were unusually long, maybe made from a sari pattern. Even though the B&B is on a busy street for a small town, traffic didn’t bother us. I didn’t hear it from our beautiful street-side room. We didn’t have time for breakfast because of our travel schedule, so I can’t comment on it. It’s a charming place near downtown Navasota.

I keep coming back to the Red Velvet Inn for a getaway. The owner is attentive and professional, and you can see how much pride she’s put into the place. It’s relaxing, and I can bring all my dogs along. The breakfast and snacks are great, and it’s easy to take a stroll around downtown Navasota. A must-see and must-stay. Thanks, Denise, for creating such a surreal escape where my fur babies and I are always welcome.
