Best Western Nebraska City Inn

The location is about the only thing this place has going for it. I've stayed at the other hotels around here and gave Best Western another try after a while. Now I remember why I usually don't stay here.

The pool and hot tub weren't very clean either. A child came out with green hair after being in the water. I've stayed here once a year for at least four years for my daughter's birthday, and we've used the conference room for parties. It had always been a pleasant experience until this weekend. My online reservation showed what I'd owe at check-in, but the general manager checked me in and changed things. I was charged $50 more than the amount shown online. Because the language barrier made it hard to understand what he was trying to say, I emailed my concerns afterward. That went badly too, and I was lied to. When I asked for a contact above him, he wouldn't give me one. I don't recommend staying here with the current manager in place.

The rooms and amenities are pretty standard, and the hotel itself is solid. What stood out was breakfast: the eggs had cheese and bacon, were seasoned just right, and honestly beat the ones I make at home. The buffet also had the usual potatoes, sausage, waffles, and pastries.

We had a nice night here while passing through. It's an older, simple place without anything glamorous, but the room was clean and the front desk was friendly. The price was decent, parking gave us no trouble, and the spot is convenient, just off the freeway with a gas station in the same lot.
