Best Western Colorado River Inn

The air conditioner was loud and couldn't cool the room properly, and the bed sloped toward the headboard, so I had to sleep with my head at the foot. Then the bathtub faucet came off while I was showering and hit my shin. These are major problems, and there's no acceptable reason for them. I asked for my money back, but the girl at the front desk had a bad attitude and seemed more interested in talking than hearing how unhappy I was. I'm not staying here again, and I'll tell others to avoid it too.

Easy to get to, and they welcome pets. The rooms were clean and the people working there were friendly. One tip, skip gas in Needles and go down the road to the Pilot, where it's half the price.

The room was clean, and the furniture was fairly modern and in good shape except for the chair. That one was worn and uncomfortable, unlike the recliner or easy chair I'd expect in a king room. The rate was 25% more than we usually pay at a comparable Best Western.

But at 1:30a, I'm still staring at the ceiling while trains with screeching wheels roll past our door every half hour. Maybe the freeway side is quieter, or bring earplugs. The shower head sprays water toward the ceiling at the joint, and the local water tastes like runoff from the Edwards AFB test range. Next time I'll check the railroad map first. Eight minutes later, another train went by. I might as well get more chicken and sleep in the truck.
