The owners were rude from the moment we arrived, and the room itself was a dump: the remote didn’t work, the fridge leaked, and there was mold around the tub and on the bathroom ceiling. We had two double beds, but were told we couldn’t have more than four people. We were traveling with four young children, including an infant, and they came to the door threatening that the extra “guests” had to leave. At 10 pm they made us leave because the six-month-old put us over their limit. They didn’t refund or prorate the room. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. Pay a bit more for somewhere nicer.

The staff were friendly, and the cleaning crew did a great job. The place was clean, but it needs a massive overhaul. The decor and furniture are very old, with scratched furniture and ketchup-and-mustard colored walls. My bed was a little too hard, the refrigerator was extremely loud, and there wasn’t a mirror over the sink. There was an ironing board but no iron, lol. It’s fine if you just need a place to sleep, but be aware that some rooms allow smoking. I could smell it, including pot smells, from my room.

I checked into one room and found broken furniture, torn shades held down with a bungee cord, and a broken safety chain. It was disgusting, so I switched rooms, but that one wasn’t any better. The carpet under the sink was soaked, beer cans were left in the trash, and the door looked like it had been kicked in. Even after an apparent repair, the deadbolt didn’t work. I checked out the next day and got a refund. I told the owner it deserved five stars for being totally disgusting while he refunded me, and he didn’t care. Avoid this place.

I’d recently moved to Smithtown and, after an emergency, needed a hotel for a couple of days. I booked two nights here, but after one sleepless night I canceled and moved elsewhere. The room was filthy and reeked, with used disposable coffee cups and smelly bedsheets. When I returned to the room for some reason, the extra lock got stuck. I asked the manager for help, and he broke it with his bare hands. That gave me no confidence in the security. I’d also seen several police cars and an ambulance outside the room next door, though I don’t know what had happened and can only say it seemed suspicious. After I canceled, the manager returned less than half the amount I’d paid when booking. Be very careful about security if you choose to stay here. The manager sits behind bulletproof glass, while the room lock can be opened by hand. This hotel doesn’t deserve even one star.
