Holiday Inn Express & Suites New Berlin by IHG

The pool was warm enough that I could play with the kids for ages without getting cold, and they loved it. Breakfast ran until 10am, which was handy, and had more than the usual basics, including omelets, bacon, eggs, pancakes, sausage, biscuits and gravy, plus cereal and instant oatmeal. Our room was clean and well maintained, and the staff made sure we got the extra bedding we needed. Great hotel, and it’s on my list for another visit.

After our wrestling tournament, we stayed at the holiday inn and were really impressed. The place was very clean, and they had Dove soap in the room, which is my favorite. The free breakfast was pretty good too. The only letdown was arriving to find nobody at the desk to check us in, just a note saying they’d be back in ten minutes. We’d still stay here again.

Josh was excellent when I called a few hours before booking. The problem came later, after I’d rested and stepped out for a moment. At about 6:45 am, the woman at the front desk seemed interested in me, but when I got near the breakfast area she asked for my room number. A white couple nearby got no such question. That felt like a microaggression and subtle racism. With devices like Meta glasses that can secretly record, this could become a bigger complaint, and possibly more.

I stay in hotels all over the Americas, and this one was nice. The location is convenient, the rooms are spacious and clean, and I really enjoyed talking with the front desk attendant tonight.
