Best Western Inn & Suites

The mold and mildew in the room were awful. My companion needed an asthma inhaler in the middle of the night, and I felt nauseous. We were exhausted, so we fell asleep instead of leaving, but couldn't wait to get out. It's too bad, since everything else was okay. There were no insects, and the water was hot enough.

The staff weren't helpful. They vaguely pointed down the inside hall toward our room, so we parked by the lobby, only to find out our room was outside at the far end of the building. The room smelled musty, and there were lots of dead bugs in the corners, like it hadn't been swept properly. The bathroom felt slick and slimy.

The attendant was very attentive and apologetic when the heat in our room didn't work. She checked that the next room had working heat before moving us. Our room was clean, the mattress was firm and comfortable, and housekeeping made sure we had what we needed. Some of the furniture was older and worn, and the tub finish was peeling. They served a hot breakfast with eggs, potatoes, and sausage, plus the usual waffles, cereal, and yogurt. The price felt a little high given the need for updates, but we appreciated having a clean place to stay.

My wife checked several rooms, and roaches ran out as soon as she entered each one. The hotel wouldn't refund us, so we had to pay despite not staying there. It really is a roach motel. Don't book unless bed bugs and roaches don't bother you. Consider yourself warned.
