Motel 6 New Braunfels, TX

The beds and bathroom didn’t look bad, but we chose not to stay and left after getting a refund for one day while paying for the other. The whole motel felt very old and worn, from the carpet and floors to the doors. People hanging around the front entrance made it awkward, and the room doors were so battered along the bottoms that they looked unsafe. I’d expected a better reputation from Motel 6. When I called to ask about arriving early, the woman wasn’t friendly and went on about the rooms being occupied, though she was pleasant once we got there. I wouldn’t recommend it even for a cheap night’s sleep.

Roaches, awful smells, and a shower that feels like it might drop through the floor. I’d spend the extra $20 and stay somewhere else. The other reviews are worth trusting. I can’t see how this place could have passed inspection legally, and it should be condemned.

The room was a miserable place to sleep. The mattress was stained, every lamp was broken, and I had disturbing dreams all night, which has never happened to me before. My husband stayed awake to look after me. We also found termites in the shower and a roach in the room. The sink and shower were rusty, old, and gross, and the bathroom door was in bad shape. Our room door looked moldy and seemed to be barely attached by the knob. Even the hallway was filthy, with stains and a foul smell. The rotten-fish odor hit us as soon as we walked in and nearly made me sick. It was uncomfortable and unsettling, and I’d never return. There are cleaner, safer places to stay.

I was stuck here for a couple of months, and every single day I had cockroaches to kill. The sticky pads everywhere were covered in them, like the photos we took show. Man, this place is garbage. Motel 6, thanks for taking so much of my money. You’re gross.
