The downtown noise was a big part of our stay. The windows might be original, and they didn't block the sound, but they did add to the historic feel. We heard Grackles chattering in the trees, clock chimes I loved, and a lively nightlife with people clearly having a great time. The staff kept the area clean despite the mess the birds made. Even driving through the roundabout felt like an adventure, with cars zooming through, some with plenty of character. My husband and I stayed in the Landa Loft. It was very clean, and the bed was more comfortable than beds we've had elsewhere. The bedding was a bit worn, so fresh sheets would improve things. The decor was simple and clean, though I'd have liked more touches of the hotel's history, like old photos or vintage details. We were on the third floor, and there are no elevators, so pack light and expect a bit of a workout. It was a memorable, lively downtown stay.

We stayed in the Hill Country Suite, with its big balcony looking out over the downtown square. Restaurants, shops, and The Wurstfest were all an easy walk away. The building's history, vintage details, and architecture are a big draw for me, and each room is really an apartment with a full kitchen. Just remember there are no elevators, so you'll be using the stairs. We come to New Braunfels for Wurstfest and have for nearly a decade. This is my favorite place we've stayed. The Mess Around cafe downstairs was busy and popular, but breakfast was great both mornings. I liked having mocha and Chai among the coffee choices. The bed was comfortable, and the place was well equipped with pillows, towels, and extra blankets. I highly recommend The Schmitz BnB.

A lovely cafe downstairs had great coffee and breakfast choices, and the people were great too. The room was clean, comfortable, and well kept inside a very old building. It's a great little place right on the main circle in New Braunfels.

We stayed in the Cynthia Ann Parker room, and the decor connected beautifully with the Cynthia Ann Parker story. It was a lovely space with a lot of history, comfortable beds, and a nice kitchen and bathroom. I enjoyed relaxing with a glass of wine on the front balcony. There's also a wonderful little coffee shop downstairs with good drinks and food. I absolutely recommend the Schmitz Hotel.

The location was perfect, with restaurants and shops close enough to walk to, and our balcony was a great place for morning coffee. We had a great stay with friends in the lone star suite. It was clean when we arrived and stocked with towels, kitchen utensils, blankets, and more. I'd definitely recommend it.
