Travelodge New Braunfels

The waffles were really tasty, and breakfast was pretty good. In the bathroom, though, the shower curtain wasn’t adequate, so we needed extra towels for the floor and to wipe water off the walls. There wasn’t a bathroom fan either.

Quiet and comfortable, with comfy beds and pillows and kind staff. Breakfast was tasty, especially the eggs, sausage, and waffle. The tub floor was peeling and needs some attention, and the room phone didn’t work, so I had to call the front desk on my cell. Definitely recommend.

I stayed in room 129 on 2-12-26 and paid $112 as a diamond member. It was clean, bug-free, and fairly quiet, with a good mattress, two TVs, working AC, and good Wi-Fi. The road nearby is very busy, but some of my favorite restaurants are close. There was confusion about the private bedroom upgrade: when I asked at check-in, the woman said it required a tier-level upgrade. Later, the front desk said I should have been able to get it. I got my goody bag, and otherwise had no problems. It was good.

This was the worst hotel experience I’ve had. We booked through a third party and had trouble from the start, with two men laughing and not taking our check-in seriously. Our friends had a valid ID issue, and the hotel wouldn’t let us change the reservation, which I understand. But one man waived our cancellation fee, then the manager changed that without telling us and charged a full night, even though we were told to leave. The general manager admitted on the phone that she still charged us after the man waived it. A company should honor what its employee already promised. We have a recording of the “male manager” speaking foully on the phone and video proof of the man canceling the fee. We’ll be reaching out to claims court. You can’t charge someone without their knowledge and openly say you changed it after another worker had already canceled everything. Every worker was unprofessional except the man who helped us late at night.
