Magnuson Grand Harrisburg

I ended up eating here all four nights, which I hadn’t expected, and the food was a welcome surprise. Natalie in the bar and restaurant was pleasant, welcoming, and had a great attitude. The staff I met were all absolutely amazing. Great job to them.

We held our class reunion here, and it was a great place in a good location. There’s plenty to do, including a regular bar area, an outdoor area, and a comedy club. You can also walk to the Diner, McDonalds, and 7-11.

The rooms were basic but fine for our one night, and the hotel is right off the highway. Still, it felt more like a restaurant, comedy club, and bar that happens to have motel rooms. The hallway was loud until the bar closed, and we could hear everything because people weren’t keeping their voices down. I also didn’t like that the outside door just faced another motel. There were no clear signs showing which door to use for check-in. Once we found the right place, nobody was there, and we waited a while for someone to come. Three other people were already in line.

I’m so grateful my teenage son and I found this place after a terrible experience at a facility across the road. The motel we’d originally booked turned out to be a typical crack motel, so we needed somewhere to stay for the night. We stopped at the Boomerang Bar and Grill attached to this hotel because we were starving and had to rethink our plans. Our waitress, Colleen, was so kind while I explained what had happened. She thought there might be a room available and said this hotel was much cleaner than the place we’d booked. She brought her manager over, and he told us there had been a cancellation about an hour earlier. We could look at the room before deciding. He held it for us while we ate dinner, then showed us the room afterward. We booked it right away. It wasn’t fancy, but it was a huge step up from our previous lodging. The room was clean, the beds were sufficient, and there were no bugs. I can’t say enough about how much Colleen and her manager’s kindness meant to us that evening.
