Holiday Inn Express & Suites New Iberia-Avery Island

Since my work travel to New Iberia has ended, I wanted to say the stay went smoothly. Ms. Sue at breakfast was so kind and helpful, and it was nice to have good bacon more than once a week. Stacy was friendly and always willing to help, and I liked being greeted by the gentleman in the evenings when I arrived. Those are the staff members I spoke with, but I’d guess the others are just as friendly. Keep up the good work! While I was staying in New Iberia for work, the Holiday Inn was definitely the best choice, and should be yours too.

The staff went above and beyond and made our stay memorable. We were visiting Avery Island for the Tabasco factory tour, and this hotel is a short drive from there and from plenty of good restaurants. Our room was clean, spacious, and well organized. We can’t say enough good things about the place.

This place is handy for a large local company where I have to work now and then. The rooms are a little dated but okay, and unlike some other hotels, this one doesn’t smell moldy. Breakfast is what you’d expect at most Holiday Inns. I’d suggest asking for a room away from the highway side because of the noise.

There was a free breakfast, which was a bonus, but the cheese omelet should go and they should just serve scrambled eggs. The pork sausage was crunchy from being overcooked, while the turkey sausage was undercooked. Check-in took a long time, and Heather seemed in no rush at all. In the room there was an obvious face mask on the floor by the microwave, long black hairs in the sink, and very dingy face towels. At 5:54 AM someone banged loudly on a door while yelling “Police” several times. At 6:07 AM the phone rang with a wake-up call we hadn’t requested, and after that we couldn’t get back to sleep. I love Holiday Inn and will keep staying with them, but this experience left a bad taste in my mouth.
