Hampton Inn by Hilton Leesville Fort Polk

Our location worked out great, with lots of good places to eat nearby. The newly renovated room was beautiful, clean, and spacious. I can’t wait to see it once the work is finished.

I’m here TDY for 21 days, but left after one night and moved to another hotel. I’m much happier there, and I’d gladly pay for that first night just to get out. I’m on the road eight months of the year and had never left a hotel over cleanliness before. When you walk in, there’s a strong mildew and mold smell, like a house flooded six months ago and nobody did anything about it. My first room looked like it had been through a fire: they’d replaced the outlet cover and called it good, while the sprinkler over the bed still leaked. They denied there had been a fire and moved me to what they said was “The only other room we have.” The sheets were nasty, the room smelled too, and the walls had broken art, holes, mold, and bathroom wallpaper peeling away with mold underneath it everywhere. I told them I was leaving, but they said they couldn’t refund the night or check me out. I’m seriously considering calling the health department for other people’s sake. The front desk clerk swore he couldn’t smell the mildew. I told him he should see a doctor, like now.

My room had been rebuilt recently and was nice. The hotel is still under construction, and the approach to it is a disaster.

This was the worst Hilton I’ve ever visited. The room smelled awful, had marks on the walls, and pictures had been taken down. Black mold was growing everywhere, the AC filters were filthy, and my shoes stuck to the floor. The reception area smelled bad too, and the elevator control panel was taken apart. On the third floor, the ice room had an AC unit with wires hanging out and joined with wire nuts. It’s obvious management doesn’t care about customers.
