Canal Express Rooms

It felt like having our own little apartment, which suited us perfectly. We didn’t have to interact with anyone during the stay, and the place was stocked with extra towels, sheets, and hygiene supplies. No housekeeping or room service, but DoorDash and Walmart deliver. I especially appreciated the washing machine setup. The trolley line is right there. It’s an old house, and the room looks old too, but I found that atmospheric. The walls are thin, though it was reasonably quiet. The TV was very old and didn’t work very well, but we weren’t there to watch TV. I can’t say how easy it is to reach someone if you need help, since we didn’t need anyone.

We paid $115 upfront on a nonrefundable booking, but never got an email with the entry code or any other information. There was no phone number or staff to help, so we couldn’t get in and had to pay another $100 for a different hotel. That money was wasted too.

SCAM ALERT!!! The place was filthy and completely nonrefundable. The photos show lovely rooms, but once you arrive you’re stuck with what they give you. We got a tiny basement room with one window and a gross shower instead of the tub it was supposed to have. The ceiling was too low for me to stand up, and there was old food in the drawers. We got out of there fast. There were plenty more things wrong, but who has the time?

They never mentioned the 21 y/o age policy before we booked. We found out afterward and only got part of our money back. They’re scamming people, for real.
