Roami at Bourbon Place

Right in the French Quarter, Roami at Bourbon Place gave us a striking, modern apartment with lots of space and a full kitchen. The place was spotless, and the sleek design felt high-end. Five stars for the location, style, and room to spread out.

The location is great, and the rooms are spacious, with comfortable beds, a washer and dryer, and a fully equipped kitchen. Our shower worked, but the tub faucet ran at the same time and we couldn’t shut the bath water off. There was also noise, and you need separate codes for the building entrance and your room. We had a rough start because we booked through a travel agent who apparently got the check-in instructions, while we didn’t. We thought check-in was at 3 p.m., but it’s 4. With no reception or place to leave bags, we had to wait with our luggage. The phone customer service team was helpful, but if you arrive early, be prepared to keep your bags with you. After 4 p.m., the place works well.

The cleaning was awful. There was body hair in the bathroom, dirty mugs, some with mold, and the coffee table hadn’t been cleaned. The towels were stained, contact lenses were dried on the bedroom floor, and there was some moldy-looking gunk in the bedroom. The fridge ice maker didn’t work, and there wasn’t a tub plug, even though I’d brought Epsom salts specifically for a bath. The cleaning crew was late, so I cleaned the bathroom myself with dish soap and a kitchen sponge, including pubic hair off the shower faucet. Disgusting. They only gave me 30% off after I had to tell them twice the refund still wasn’t up to 30%. I couldn’t post the pictures and videos with this review. Don’t stay here.

The apartment was beautiful and spacious, and it was close to restaurants, Bourbon Street, the canal, and a streetcar stop. The Le Pass app is handy for streetcar and bus routes. Check-in was easy with clear instructions, and I’d stay again. I’d read about streetcar and crowd noise and the difficult balcony window. It wasn’t too bad for me, though anyone sensitive to noise may be kept awake by the crowds and streetcar running late or early. In a two-bedroom, the back room away from the street was quiet. I’m not very big or muscular, and I could lift the window without much trouble. It stayed open by itself, though I put something there just in case. The bedroom has blinds instead of curtains, so light-sensitive sleepers may want an eye mask.
