The New Orleans Jazz Quarters

We booked almost a year ahead for the Superbowl, then the hotel told us they’d canceled our reservation because the owners had changed and said to contact booking.com for the prepaid amount. The new owner had the same phone number, though. booking.com tried to return our money, but by then we couldn’t find another room, so we canceled the trip and went to Vegas for the Superbowl instead. They sold our room for ten times what I’d paid. Absolutely disappointing, just greed and bad business.

We stayed in the Kermit Cottage last weekend and had such a nice visit. Loraine and Robert were terrific hosts, and breakfast was delicious. The grounds were beautiful, and the rooms felt quiet and relaxing, with a comfortable bed. We also loved how easy it was to explore the French Quarter on foot. Once we arrived, we never needed to move the car. Thanks for a delightful stay.

The courtyard and location were good, and the basic rooms mostly had what we needed. But when the entry code stopped working on our last night, we couldn't get into the property or our room. We called, texted, and emailed, and nobody answered. We were left outside in the cold in the middle of the night to sort it out ourselves. No one checked in or apologized over the following days, either. There’s never staff on site, so if anything goes wrong, you’re on your own. With kids or older relatives, I don't think the risk is worth it. Very poor service.

There wasn’t a host or hostess on site, and we seemed to be the only people there. The White room I’d booked for our anniversary was a huge letdown. Dust had collected behind the furniture and headboard, and the place looked damaged and abandoned, like it wasn’t regularly cared for. It looked nothing like the website. We didn’t stay, and based on what we saw, I wouldn’t recommend it.
