The Westin New Orleans

Amanda W. made my stay memorable. At checkout she asked how things had gone, and when I mentioned that the shower looked worn and not fully white, she listened, took notes, and said she’d make sure it was addressed for the next guest. She was kind and professional. I’d also said I wanted to try the hotel’s oysters but was leaving to catch my Uber, so she offered a complimentary appetizer. I didn’t expect that at all, and it meant a lot. I’d happily stay here again on my next New Orleans trip because of her hospitality. Getting around is easy by trolley, on foot in nice weather, or by Uber, since everything is close. The room was clean enough and comfortable, though the shower and tub could use a refresh. They looked a little worn and slightly dirty even though they seemed clean, and likely need refinishing. I wear shower shoes anyway, so it wasn’t a major concern for me, but the hotel may want to look into it. I had a great visit at The Westin New Orleans. As a traveler, I mainly need a clean room and kind people, and the hotel delivered on that. I’m already looking forward to another trip and will consider staying here again.

We got a lovely surprise when the staff moved us from the basic city-view room we’d booked to one overlooking the river. It was spacious and clean, with beautiful views of the Mississippi River. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the lobby was beautiful too. The Westin New Orleans is right by the riverfront, with the French Quarter an easy walk away, so we enjoyed walking around. We had a great stay and would come back if we return to New Orleans.

I was impressed by how kind and professional the staff were, and the service was top-notch. The Westin is stunning, and I didn’t expect it to connect to a mall, which was very convenient and cool. It was a fantastic first trip to New Orleans overall. The shower was the one letdown. The water pressure was low, and the water was cold during my stay. Hopefully it was just a temporary problem. Apart from that, I enjoyed everything.

The EV charging situation is why I gave four stars. The hotel advertises paid charging, but there’s only one spot, available first come, first served, and the charger was broken and looked as if it had been that way for a while. There’s a Nema 6-50 socket that might work if you have that plug and bring your own charger, though most EVs use Nema 14-50. If destination charging matters to you, pick another hotel until it’s fixed, ideally with more stations. The hotel itself has a nice waterfront view and is well placed for reaching the French quarter. It’s beside a shopping mall with a large parking area at a competitive price.
