Wyndham New Orleans - French Quarter

The location was good, with almost everything within walking distance. Our room was clean and neat, and the front desk, maid, concierge, and valet services were all good. The room was small, with two full beds rather than queens, and the bathroom was tiny. There was no microwave or refrigerator. Besides state and city taxes, we were charged a pile of fees: City and State occupancy tax, destination fee, destination fee city and state tax, and tourism assessment. Mandatory valet parking cost $50 per night.

We had a small problem with the AC. It never got cold at night, but we came back late and didn’t bother telling the front desk. Otherwise, it was a great choice, with good rooms and a perfect location for enjoying New Orleans. I’ll definitely be back in December.

The location and friendly staff made this a nice stay for my sister and me. We were close to everything, the lobby smelled great, and the Creole restaurant downstairs was amazing. Guests get some amount off their meal, maybe 10-15%, but I’m not sure of the exact discount. A couple of things could use attention. The pool had broken glass or stone like pieces on the bottom and scattered along the side, so we stepped on them. The bathroom wallpaper was bubbled and peeling, though that didn’t bother us much and seemed like an easy fix they may have made. The flavored water machine was a cool perk, with adjustable carbonation, and access to it and a bottle were complimentary. The problem was that they only provide one bottle per room. When we asked for another, we were told it might cost around 12 dollars. That felt like a strange, inconvenient policy for two guests and took some of the fun out of the amenity. We’d probably stay again, hoping those problems were a fluke. We loved the location and staff, but the amenities could use updating, and it would make sense to provide one bottle per guest.

The special water station was such a small touch, but it stuck with us and made the stay feel thoughtful. Even more memorable was the staff. Everyone we met, from the doormen and check-in team to the concierge, security, housekeeping, and facilities staff, was kind, professional, knowledgeable, and funny. Their warmth made the experience personal, and it was clear they take pride in welcoming guests. This was our first trip to New Orleans. The city’s food and atmosphere will bring us back, and we already know we’ll stay at the Wyndham again. It has earned our loyalty, and we’d recommend it to anyone visiting. Every interaction exceeded our expectations from the moment we arrived. Thanks to the whole team for making the trip so memorable. We can’t wait to return.
