We had six different rooms for our family, and every one of them was a joke. The showers had curtains instead of walls, the mattresses felt like cement, and broken balcony doors meant nobody could use their balconies for the whole vacation. The elevators were out for a full day, leaving elderly family members stuck in their rooms. One room had broken AC, and in two rooms maintenance workers spent a whole day coming in and out to fix a flooded drain line. Staff were no help, and the fire extinguisher doors were broken. They'd boarded up the trash chute, so we had to walk across the entire parking lot to a dumpster full of maggots. Worst place we've picked to stay this decade.
The prices and views were top notch. But someone really needs to be in the office. Our first night, we almost couldn't get in, and we couldn't get a parking pass either. Luckily, other residents helped us resolve both issues.
Friends rent here during the winter months. It's a great place to watch launches 🚀
I really like staying here. Just wish the tenants would put felt pads on their chairs. That scraping against the tile is awful, like fingernails on a blackboard. Ugh.
We told Smyrna Beach Club on 11/27/2020, more than 30 days ahead, that we wouldn't be coming back, but they refuse to return any of our deposit. That's very unfair. When we agreed to come in August, the pandemic was declining in Minnesota and Florida. Since then, COVID-19 deaths have climbed dramatically and travel around the country has been restricted. At 76, with heart disease, active cancer, Waldenstroms Macroglobulinemia, and a compromised immune system, I felt the risk of dying was too high for us to travel to NSB in December or January 2021.
