The house is modern rather than rustic, and the name really ought to reflect that. It’s clean, attractive, and easy to check in and out of, with plenty of modern comforts, including a big TV, a pool table, and reclining couches. The setting feels pretty secluded, except for the neighbor’s dog, which howled whenever we went out front. We preferred the great covered porch, where we could make a fire and enjoy the view. Getting to the lake was the downside. Calling it a “trail to the lake” may give the wrong impression: it’s very steep and hard to climb, especially after rain. The dock steps felt dangerous. The final section has no railing, and then there’s a steep ramp with no footholds or railing. Please be careful. I’d recommend the house if you plan to stay indoors, but not if you expect to go back and forth to the lake every day. Anyone with joint pain or balance problems should not try that route.
