Arthouse Hotel New York City

Breakfast is served in the lobby in the morning, and there's a bar in the evening. The staff in both spots were lovely and always willing to help. I especially enjoyed having my favorite drink in the cozy lobby while it was freezing outdoors. My family and I had an incredible stay. We were greeted with genuine warmth at check-in and got great neighborhood recommendations. The rooms are much more spacious than at other nearby hotels we've stayed in, which made things comfortable and relaxing. Everyone we met, from the doormen to housekeeping and the rest of the team, was kind and attentive and made us feel at home. The service was outstanding. We'll definitely be back. Highly recommend.

We spent six nights here and enjoyed the stay very much. I'm glad I chose the Arthouse hotel. We live nearby, and I wanted to experience it. My clinical Social worker helped me with the process, and I picked it from the three choices she gave me through our NYCHA Tempo reservation. It turned out to be one of my best decisions this year. Serafina is next door through the lobby, which was great. Housekeeping was always helpful, bringing fresh towels when needed. Coffee and tea were available when we asked, and the staff got us what we needed.

The kind staff, comfortable rooms, and the lobby's NYC charm have made this hotel feel like a second home. I love the weekly live music too. It's in a perfect UWS location, and I look forward to staying at the Arthouse whenever I'm in town for work. Highly recommend it!

More than a month after checkout, I still haven't gotten back my $650 deposit. I stayed January 22-27 and paid a $500 deposit, then another $150 when I extended by one night. Since leaving, I've called daily, left messages for the front desk and accounting, and emailed, but nobody responds or gives a clear answer. No one follows up or takes responsibility. They also charged my card $229 in "urban fees" that were never clearly disclosed when booking or checking in. Nobody has explained what these fees cover. Charging hundreds without transparency feels deeply unprofessional and close to deceptive. Holding my deposit for over a month without explanation, adding unexplained charges after checkout, and ignoring repeated attempts to sort it out are all unacceptable. If you value your money and peace of mind, book somewhere else. I've never dealt with a hotel's communication and accountability this poor. I'll keep escalating the matter until it's resolved.
