Comfort Inn Brooklyn

I stayed one weekend night and won’t be coming back. The room was very noisy, the TV didn’t work well, and I could never get a good wifi connection. The elevator smelled awful too. They also charged an extra $50 to my c.card without telling me. The front desk lady said it was just in case and the money would be back in my account in 3 days, so now I have to wait for it.

I knew my Groupon booking didn’t allow changes or refunds, but when my trip was cancelled at the last minute, I called the hotel to ask whether they might offer partial credit or let me rebook. The front desk said they needed to check with the Manager, then sent me to central booking twice, and both calls disconnected. On the third try, central booking said I had to go through Groupon. Groupon reached me without trouble, reminded me of the terms I already knew, and offered to contact the hotel to ask about approving a cancellation. I gave them the name of the person I’d spoken with. Groupon later told me the hotel refused. I was asking for consideration, so they could have just said upfront that nothing could be done and saved me the run-around, especially since I was also dealing with a sick baby. Instead they passed the buck and made the situation more of a hassle than it needed to be. Shame on them.

I was told the wrong information about both the price and parking. Worst of all, security conned me out of $250 for supposedly smoking in the room, which I didn’t do. Terrible experience at this motel.

A welcoming, clean place at a totally affordable price. The staff were polite, there were no hassles, and I had a great stay. I can’t say enough good things about it.
