Comfort Inn & Suites near JFK Air Train

After our flights were cancelled and we’d been awake all night, Seema from the breakfast and lunch area worked hard to help us get into our room as soon as possible. She kept checking whether breakfast items were running low and did her best to make the visit pleasant and smooth. The front desk staff were very helpful too, and tried to accommodate us early.

We left and stayed somewhere else. The front desk offered another room, but it was nearly as dirty and had the same strong chemical smell from the air conditioner. In the first room, the bed looked made, but the room clearly hadn’t been cleaned: there was a ball of hair on the windowsill, what looked like pubic hairs on the sheets, and odd stains on the bed and walls. Turning on the AC brought a strong chemical odor. It may be within walking distance of the airtrain, but I wouldn’t choose it.

My sheets had blood on them, and when I asked for a change, they remade the bed without replacing them. I also had bedbug bites. There were no wash rags or hand towels, the shower was dirty, and the room had no coffee maker or microwave. The whole place smelled like cigarettes, and the front desk didn’t offer even one apology. This place is a disaster. I’ll be calling Choice because this hotel should be removed from its franchise.

The customer service at the front desk was even worse than the room. They said they don’t honor Choice reward status. The room was closet-sized, someone had used the toilet and left it unflushed, the bathroom mirror was dirty, and there were fingerprints on the headboard. The floor and carpet were so dirty that the bottoms of my socks looked filthy. Thank goodness the Choices Rewards center moved us to another hotel for free. Whatever you do, don’t stay here.
