Henri Hotel

My girlfriend and I stayed three nights, and I’d give it 4/5. We wanted a simple place in a great location where we could shower and sleep after long days walking, and it suited us well. The staff were kind, our room was cleaned daily, and the location couldn’t be better. Some facilities feel a little old, and it can get slightly noisy. I also liked that they use FRAMA shampoo, conditioner, and soap. People have different expectations, but I don’t think the poor reviews should scare you off. This place is worth considering.

The room turned out to be a pleasant surprise: spacious, extremely clean and tidy, and with a bathroom in perfect condition and lovely hot water. The restaurant was lovely too, with attentive staff and top-notch food. We promise to return. Congratulations on the excellent service! When we first arrived at the Henri Hotel on 24th Street in New York, the small lobby made me a little apprehensive about the room. The staff were very friendly. Since we arrived early in the morning, they let us leave our luggage until check-in.

For the price, this was very good value, and we’d stay again. The hotel was clean and modern, with easy subway access and plenty of shops nearby. Our room was bright and clean, with a comfortable bed and clean sheets. It had a small fridge, a closet with lots of hangers, an iron and ironing board, a coffee maker, and a nice flat screen TV. The bathroom and shower were clean and had soap and shampoo, but there were no towels in the room, so we had to ask. The coffee maker had no cups either; we had to get those in the lobby. The TV’s “free Roku” channels were limited, and using streaming services meant entering our own login details, which I didn’t really want to do.

We spent most of our time sightseeing, so the small rooms weren’t a problem. The neighbourhood was relatively quiet and clean, and felt very safe. The location is excellent, just steps from Madison Square Park, the Flatiron District, several subway stations, and the Eataly market. We also found plenty of good restaurants and bars within a few blocks. For a more budget friendly hotel in Midtown Manhattan, I’d certainly consider staying here again. I’d been apprehensive after reading some reviews, but ended up having a pleasant stay at Sonder. Staff weren’t very visible, though they emailed the check-in information before we arrived and we got into our rooms without trouble. Housekeeping came once, on Sunday afternoon, the second day of our visit. They made the bed, changed the bath mat, and took out the garbage. Everything was clean.
