Highbridge Hotel

The beds and room were clean and comfortable, and breakfast tasted fresher than at most places. We checked in around 11pm and left at 11am. The front desk staff were nice and professional. The shower soap, shampoo, and conditioner were good too. Breakfast had an odd rule: I was told I couldn’t eat because my parents had already gone and the whole group had to go together. I saw two of the three names crossed off on the clipboard, and nobody had mentioned this at check-in. The staff member said she’d make an exception this once. I also found two bits of eggshell in the scrambled eggs, and the tip box by the kitchen felt tacky. The bathroom used a dirty towel as a bath mat, which was kind of gross, and there was no hand soap at the sink. The huge TV camera by the front desk also gave a bit of a ghetto vibe.

Joel on staff was excellent at communicating and making us feel welcome. Breakfast was decent, and the hotel was about what I expected for the price. Being close to the MTA station was ideal, though the area felt a little sketchy.

The room was spacious, everything was very clean, and the bed was super comfortable. They also offered breakfast, and I got my deposit back, which plenty of hotels don’t do. The staff were so friendly. I only stayed one night, but it was a great place and I’ll definitely come back soon.

The biggest problem was the noise. I could hear guests in the next room talking and laughing loudly all night, and people walking in the hall and slamming doors in the morning. It made sleeping very difficult, so light sleepers may have a serious issue here. The hotel was clean and well maintained, and the room was comfortable. Breakfast was decent, with enough basic choices. Still, the noise significantly affected my stay.
