Homewood Suites New York/Midtown Manhattan Times Square

I stay in a lot of hotels, traveling 7-8 months a year, and rarely write reviews, but I really loved this stay. The room was spotless, brand-new, spacious by NYC standards, cozy, and quiet. The location made exploring NYC easy, and the price was great for the city. The front desk staff were wonderful. They recognized my Hilton Honors status, which surprises me by how often Hilton properties miss this simple thing, got me everything I asked for, and were very friendly.

Traveling as a mom with two boys, I needed a kitchen, guest laundry, and a separate bedroom rather than a studio. Homewood suites had everything we needed. Having the kitchen let us cut food costs a lot by ordering drinks and snacks from the nearby Target, and being able to wash my pre-teen’s laundry was essential with highs near 95 last week. The free breakfast helped too, since food in NYC is so expensive. Shoutout to housekeeping, they even washed my dishes while I was out enjoying myself, which impressed me. The rooms are clean, the staff are friendly, and it felt like a good value with Manhattan’s high prices. I’d recommend it for families looking for more of a home base than just somewhere to sleep. The room was roomy by NYC standards and very well equipped: kitchenette with stovetop, a large fridge and dishwasher, a comfortable closet, desk, sofa, and table. The shower was especially good. There’s a restocking cart on each floor with coffee capsules, tea, sugar, detergent, and other essentials. The lobby also has coffee, tea, and water available throughout the day. Breakfast is included, a big plus in New York. Housekeeping comes every other day, and reception will help with anything you need between visits. The location is central and well connected, especially close to Penn Station. Staff across the front desk, housekeeping, and management were consistently kind, attentive, and helpful. Before we arrived, they replied to all my questions quickly. They also accept packages for free and store luggage without any trouble. We paid for early check-in, but received credits to use at the hotel, which made it worthwhile. Our experience was excellent from start to finish, and we’d definitely stay again.

The rooms were quiet with no street noise, and it was nice to see greenery outside the window. Rooms were a good size, and renovations are underway and looking good. I had an issue with my room that lowered my rating, but the hotel came up with an acceptable solution. Everyone was friendly and provided good service. Breakfast was good, especially handy when traveling with kids, and the subway and attractions were easy to reach.
