We had a wonderful weekend here. The rooftop bar and lounge was a lovely place to spend time, and the staff were so friendly. Our room was surprisingly spacious for a standard NYC room, with a good-sized bathroom, big windows, and a beautiful view of the Manhattan Bridge and nearby buildings. The location is right in the heart of Chinatown, close to SoHo and Little Italy. We’d definitely stay again.
The rooftop bar, The Crown, was the highlight for me. From the 20th/21st floor, the nearly 360° city view was breathtaking, especially after dark with the skyline lit up. It’s one of the best rooftop experiences I’ve had in New York. I stayed one night in the Family Suite on the 3rd floor. It was spacious by New York standards, comfortable, and well-appointed. The view wasn’t fully panoramic, but it was pleasant and gave a nice sense of the neighborhood. The hotel sits at Canal Street and Bowery, the famous intersection mentioned in The Lumineers’ “Ho Hey.” There’s a bus stop directly across the street, which made getting around easy. I do wish the metro station were closer. The staff were warm, professional, and accommodating from check-in through departure. They made me feel at home in the middle of bustling NYC. I had a fantastic stay and would happily come back for the service, historic feel, and rooftop.
We really enjoyed the Lower East Side location, right by Chinatown and Little Italy, with some of the best food about 10 mins away. Our room was spacious enough for two, had good hot water and shower pressure, and a nice view, at least in an odd-numbered room. The staff were wonderful. They tracked down my clean clothes after we accidentally left them in a drawer during our room move, and even searched the housekeeping manager’s desk at 11 pm. They also held our luggage for a late flight. We moved rooms after finding out the rooftop bar played loud, thumpy bass music well past midnight. We’d been placed on the 20th floor because it was my husband’s first visit, which was nice, but we only managed two nights before switching. Even with that, I’d stay again and recommend the hotel without hesitation.
I’d read some reviews that made me a bit concerned, but I ended up more pleased with this stay than with any Hyatt property I can remember, and I’ve been to thousands. I’ll definitely be back. Jordan was amazing from the moment I arrived and did everything possible to accommodate me. I also got lovely service at the Rooftop Bar. Before I headed out for the evening, Sig gave me great suggestions on where to go and made ordering breakfast easy. The view from my room was unmatched. Great job, everyone!
This has moved to the top of my list after years of staying at different Hyatt and Hilton hotels in midtown and upper Manhattan. The inside decor was a nice surprise and made me forget it was a Hyatt property. The location is amazing for getting to Chinatown’s best restaurants. Our room on the 20th floor was quiet and very clean, with a great view. The front desk team were kind and accommodating, and held our luggage at both check-in and check-out. This will be my first choice when I visit the city again.
