Loews Regency New York Hotel

We brought our daughter for her 7th birthday, and the hotel made her feel special with treats at the front desk. It felt kid-friendly while still keeping an elevated atmosphere. Room service was prompt, and the food was excellent. From arrival to the end, service was thoughtful and consistent. Steven greeted us at our cab and addressed me by name, a small detail that made an impression. Alexa in guest services was outstanding, and every team member we met showed the same professionalism and warmth. I wish I could name everyone. It was a seamless, high-quality stay, and Loews Regency New York Hotel has earned our loyalty. My family will return.

For our 15 year anniversary, we arrived to find a lovely bottle of champagne and chocolate truffles in the room. The food was amazing, and room service was quick. The doorman was so courteous that he lent us his umbrella when we went out for the night. The location was perfect. We had a really great stay and would come back.

A plain egg white omelette costs $50, and toppings aren’t included, vegetables cost extra. A rollaway bed is another $50. High-speed internet for meetings costs extra too, as does a quiet office space, which doesn’t even come with a desk or chair. LOL. For a hotel marketed as five-star, that’s a lot of add-on charges for basic amenities. I’ve traveled extensively and stayed in hundreds of hotels worldwide, and haven’t run into this level of charging before. When I brought it up with management, the response was dismissive and unhelpful. There are plenty of excellent hotel choices in this part of NYC, so I’d suggest considering one of those unless you’re fine paying $50 for a plain omelette. If management sees this, I’d welcome a thoughtful direct response instead of a template.

The Regency Bar and Grill serves outstanding breakfasts, and the rooms are bright, spacious, and well equipped. The hotel itself is lovely, and the staff are extraordinary. It’s our go-to when we stay in New York. Before one visit, I had a severe injury. The staff were caring and knowledgeable, and quickly arranged the help and equipment I needed. If you have a health issue while traveling, Loews Regency is the kind of hotel you want to be at.
