The elevators concerned me most. The side lights that indicate whether they’re going up or down were detached and hanging beside the doors. Seeing parts visibly coming loose made me feel unsafe and question whether the elevators are properly maintained or have passed recent safety inspections. Management and the relevant authorities should look into this promptly. Housekeeping never came during my four-day stay. The trash stayed in the room, and neither the sheets nor towels were changed. It seemed the hotel was badly understaffed or lacked adequate housekeeping, and that level of neglect is unacceptable. The Wi-Fi was very weak, and there seemed to be interference with my own mobile data too, so communication and basic internet use were difficult throughout the visit. Cigarette smoke filled the hallways, common areas, and the rest of the facility. The smell was constant and made the environment unpleasant and unhealthy. I believe should investigate the property more closely. My experience fell short of basic standards for hospitality, sanitation, and safety, and I wouldn’t recommend it to travelers looking for a clean, safe, professionally managed stay in the Bronx.

We booked two rooms last summer, and the rooms were so dirty that we started looking for another hotel right away. In my friends’ room, there was deli meat in a drawer that looked like it had been there for days, and almonds in another cabinet. Maybe the sheets had been changed, but that seemed to be the only thing anyone checked. Music was blasting in the room next door, and the walls were paper-thin. My partner and I were first given the wrong key and walked in on two people. The hotel refused to refund us in full, first offering our money back for just one room, then ghosting us. I don’t understand how this place has five-star reviews. It feels like they must be from friends and family.

Ashley at the front desk was kind and friendly, and she communicated clearly throughout. She made everything feel easy and welcoming. I appreciated her professionalism and really enjoyed interacting with her. I had a great experience at Nova Hotel.

We checked out immediately because the room was in such poor condition, then had to make several attempts before we could reach anyone. When we finally spoke, the manager refused a refund and offered a credit toward a future stay. A free stay in a place that isn’t being properly maintained is no solution. Guest health and safety don’t seem to be priorities here. Save your money and stay elsewhere. The room had hair in the bed and thick mould and rust on the radiator. Staff were unprofessional from the start, and the common areas smelled strongly of smoke. There was no flexibility for early check-in, which would have been understandable if the room had actually been clean and ready by the 3 PM check-in time. I can’t recommend this hotel.
