Nyma New York Manhattan Hotel

For the modest price, this was a good, clean, well-kept place, and we enjoyed our stay. The beds were the big drawback: they sagged in the middle so much that sleeping felt like being in a bathtub. The hotel is older, but the elevators worked fine. Reception was friendly, especially the guy on nights, and the cleaning lady on the 10th floor always checked if we needed anything. The rooftop bar was okay, though the view wasn't much. There isn't luggage storage at the hotel; there seems to be a paid option a couple of blocks away.

The location is fantastic, and the price is great for this area. My room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The place does feel quite dated, with some furniture past its best and towels near the end of their life. There was no fridge or coffee machine in my room. A public rooftop bar shares just two fairly slow elevators with hotel guests, so getting around in the evening can take a while.

We had a view of the Empire State Building from our room, and the hotel is only a block from it. The room was dated but spacious, very clean, and had everything we needed. The lobby was also clean and roomy, and check-in was straightforward. After hot days out exploring, the working air conditioning cooled the room down nicely. A lovely cleaning lady came every morning to clean and replace the toiletries and towels. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always available. Thanks, Nyma Hotel, for a wonderful stay. I'd definitely stay again and recommend it to family and friends.

Midtown was convenient, with restaurants nearby, and I'd recommend the place for a day or two. The lobby, hallways, and room were very clean, and the heating and AC unit warmed our room quickly despite a bit of a smell, maybe from the carpet. Our king room had no microwave or refrigerator, and there wasn't a phone or an outlet by the bed for charging. The TV channels weren't great, but we weren't there to watch TV. The tub's sealant or paint was peeling near the drain, and I didn't care for the look or feel of the toilet. Hand soap, lotion, body wash, and a blow dryer were provided.
