I felt right at home in the bar and restaurant, even though it was my first time there. The interior was clean and had fabulous design for the area. The food and drinks tasted great, and the bartenders were friendly and quick. Our food came late because we’d been given the wrong information about the menu. That item was only served after a certain time, which the menu didn’t say, so we couldn’t understand why we were waiting so long. Once we got a little impatient, the server dealt with the mix-up quickly and professionally. We were hungry, haha.

I think I arrived in the off season, when the motel and grill were a bit slow, and I really enjoyed the stay. Each room has its own design, and the surrounding area reminded me of the ratchet, friendly parts of Los Angeles. The bathrooms and showers are shared, so this might not suit you if having your own facilities matters. I didn’t mind, since they were really clean.

The fish tacos are good, but the crowd can be a little funny. Last time I was there, I got bummed out by the over-aggressive guys. Too many gross men were trying to pick me up when I just wanted a quiet drink at the bar.

After a day at the beach, I stopped in for a quick drink and bite. The service was great, and the food was what I’d call slightly elevated pub grub. The fish sandwich was great, and the shrimp nachos were solid too.

The rooms are really pretty and comfortable, even though the motel doesn’t look good from outside. Each one has an interesting design and a special story by a different designer. It’s a very nice, modern, interesting place, and there’s a cool bar downstairs that opens in the evening. A good spot for young people.
