The neighborhood still feels authentic, with a real sense of community, and the host is a remarkable person with a generous view of the world. I feel lucky to have experienced her hospitality. A hidden gem in the big apple, highly recommended.

My husband and I spent five days here in April, and it was such a pleasant stay. The room was well cared for, comfortable, clean, and nice to come back to after being out. The stairs didn't bother us at all. There are some products available if you'd like to have breakfast there, though the shower can take a while to heat up. Thanks, Zenobia. We'd definitely stay again.

Zenobia made us feel at home and helped create a safe, relaxed atmosphere. We liked our stay. The house is spacious and clean, with plenty of character from its age. The neighborhood wasn't the best, especially at night, but we were up for a bit of adventure and enjoyed it.

Zenobia made me feel welcome and still gave me room to do my own thing. It's a lovely street, close to public transport and a beautiful park. Such a lovely place, I'd definitely like to come back ❣️

The breakfast was stale cereal and bakery goods that seemed a day old, and we waited 45 minutes on the porch for Zenobia to arrive before being shown to our third-floor room. We had booked eight nights but left after four, and would have gone anyway even without the hurricane forecast. When we told Zenobia we were leaving because a hurricane was heading our way, she said she would refund the unused nights and asked us to contact her when we got home. In hindsight, we should have secured the refund before leaving. Safety was a serious concern. We were in a very scary part of Brooklyn, and there was a shooting nearby on our last night. We came around the corner just after it happened and saw the blood trail leading to where the man had collapsed as police arrived. The morning after, two more people were shot in the same neighborhood. We’re open-minded and enjoy experiencing different city cultures, but this area didn’t feel safe. Zenobia said the B&B was still open for business despite the hurricane. Please think twice before booking. I hope this helps others avoid what was a bad experience for us.
