The Assemblage John Street

The Assemblage John Street feels like a calm little oasis in the middle of busy Manhattan. The atmosphere is welcoming and refreshing, and the customer service was excellent. John and the other front-desk staff went out of their way to make sure we had a great stay.

The Assemblage was a lovely part of our fantastic surprise pre-Christmas break. It was my husband’s and my first time in the States and New York, and we stayed four nights. Our room had lots of space and was very well equipped, and the staff were friendly and went out of their way to help. The location was excellent too, close to Wall Street, the 9/11 memorial, and the subway.

I’ve found the co-working space at The Assemblage great for getting focused, even though some people sometimes forget others are working. It’s filled with plants, which makes the place feel calming as soon as you arrive, and the front-desk team and staff at the upstairs elixir bars are always welcoming. There are yoga classes, discussions, meeting rooms, food, and a really good community, so the membership feels worth it. If you’re curious, take a tour. It’s a beautiful, nature-inspired space with an Ayurvedic focus, and a peaceful setting in the middle of the city is a real plus if you enjoy meditating.

I booked a staycation here to get a break from the stress of living in NYC, and the hotel exceeded what I expected. The room was more like a huge apartment by NYC standards, with a full kitchen, a large balcony, and modern, attractive furnishings. I brought groceries and cooked. It was quiet and peaceful, and the front desk staff were great. I wish I lived there.
