The Brooklyn Riviera

Talib was welcoming and a great host from my first day. He also offered basic breakfast, bread and coffee. I stayed for a few nights and had a really good experience.

A relaxed place, and Thalib and Jimmy were great hosts. This feels like the heart of Brooklyn. I’d definitely come back someday.

The hostel was generally dirty, and I found bed bugs in my room. Don’t be tempted by the low price. Paying a few dollars more somewhere else is better than carrying bed bugs through the rest of your trip.

I’ve stayed in hostels while traveling through many countries, and this is one of the best. I only spent one night, but everything was clean and comfortable, and I had everything I needed in the ten-girl bunk room. I checked in pretty late and Talib still welcomed me. The other guests were friendly and respectful, and I made a good Polish friend. Coffee and breakfast were free. The price is hard to believe, especially since it’s surely the cheapest in New York. I even told the owner he should raise it. Talib gets up early to clean and prepare breakfast for guests, and he keeps the price affordable for travelers. No complaints, and I’d gladly stay here again. Thanks, Talib!
