The Historic Blue Moon Hotel - NYC

If you're into history, this is a great spot, right across from the Tenement Museum. The building has historic charm, and the rooms are comfortable and spacious, especially for Manhattan. Mine was one of the quietest rooms I've ever had in Lower Manhattan. The staff were super friendly, and the digital systems made it easy to get what you need. I had a great, comfortable stay.

I come to NYC often for medical travel and usually look for a nice little hotel near interesting places to offset the stress. This one was a home run, with big, clean rooms, a great view from every window, and a private balcony. It's in a historic building and family owned, so don't expect full-service hotel amenities, but I didn't miss them. There's a cute little bakery/Cafe at reception for snacks, and everyone working there was incredibly nice, helpful, and accommodating. Such a great little hotel. Highly recommend.

The location made it easy to wander through SoHo, Little Italy, and Chinatown, and the hotel had that charming, comfortable boutique feel. What really stood out, though, was how well the team looked after us. After our red-eye, Jay welcomed us right away and was kind, professional, and helpful throughout. Bram, Dovid, and Joe kept checking that we were comfortable and had what we needed. We had a lovely stay and will be back.

The staff made us feel like locals, and getting around was easy: the Tenement Museum is just steps away, Chinatown and the Lower East Side are walkable, and the subway is close by. We also loved the Sweet Dreams Cafe downstairs, with great coffee and pastries in the morning and spot-on Italian dishes. Our junior suite was roomy by New York standards, very clean, and had a comfy king bed, a modern bathroom with good water pressure, and a small kitchenette. The hotel’s eclectic, artsy character felt genuine and warm, not gimmicky. Everywhere you look there are details from the original 1879 tenement, from exposed brick and antique doorknobs to little artifacts set into the walls. It feels like a story and an art project as much as a hotel. We’ll stay again whenever we’re in NYC. It’s a 10/10 for us, and we’d highly recommend booking it.
