White Olive, the hotel's restaurant, deserves five stars. The location is hard to beat, but the lack of heat in my room on arrival was a serious problem. There was a small space heater already in the room, so I'm sure they knew, and it didn't warm the place well. When I called, all they offered was another blanket. It's cold in NYC in December, and I expected more, like another room or a discount. The room itself was okay, but the quality wasn't what I'd expect for the price. I usually stay at the Hilton Doubletree across the street on fifth Ave., and only booked here because it was sold out. I won't book this hotel again when better quality places are within walking distance for the same price.

The room didn't do anything wrong. It was quiet, a little small, and in a perfect location for walking around. I changed my rating from 1 star to three and four because of that. Some staff were very helpful, but others seemed like they were being forced to work. I called several times from both my cell and the room and nobody answered. It's a nice place to sleep, but I can't recommend staying here because of the service.

I stayed five nights and felt very safe. The location is great, and there's a good little sushi restaurant across the road. The room was medium-sized, with a big shower and a comfortable bed. The interior is pretty dated. It didn't bother me this time, but I wouldn't want to stay next year if it still hasn't been refurbished.

This place is bullshit. They call it four star, but it felt like one star or none. I'd already paid everything through Priceline, including taxes and fees, then after check-in they asked for another $45. They ended up charging $145. Since I couldn't cancel the reservation, it felt like they could just charge whatever they wanted. What's the difference between that and robbery? I won't come back. Stay away if you don't want to feel robbed.

The rooms were comfortable and high quality, though I'd give them 4 out of 5. Service and location were the strongest parts, both a full 5 stars for how good and convenient they were right in the heart of the city. Having such a dedicated staff in that prime spot made the visit memorable.
