The spa was a welcome bonus after busy days in the city, with a sauna and steam room to enjoy. The gym is well equipped and more than enough to keep up with workouts while traveling. The location is hard to beat, right in the heart of New York City and within walking distance of many attractions. Staff were outstanding from check-in through checkout and made us feel welcome throughout. The hotel has a luxurious feel and a great atmosphere. I’d absolutely stay at Lotte New York Palace again and recommend it to visitors.
The late flight meant we needed a late checkout, and J. Peter Lowery was exceptionally helpful, kind, and accommodating, even though we asked very late at night. He made a potentially stressful end to the trip feel easy. Raye, one of the doormen, greeted us warmly every time we came and went, and was always lovely to talk to. The housekeeping team were also very friendly and made us feel welcome. Our room on the 34th floor had incredible cathedral views, and waking up to them each day made the stay feel special. The beautiful room was cleaned impeccably every day. Lotte New York Palace is stunning, and this was one of our best hotel experiences in New York. We’ll definitely be back.
Breakfast in the Villard Room was a treat, especially the coconut yogurt and bacon. The spacious, quiet room was very comfortable, and waking up to beautiful views of St. Patrick’s Cathedral was unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, our bellman, Tom Rena, gave us such a warm welcome with the kindest, friendliest service. A beautiful stay and the sweetest memories. Already dreaming of coming back.
The hotel itself was lovely: beautiful facilities, a comfortable and extremely clean room, wonderful staff, and a perfect location that felt safe and upscale. But I can’t give a full five stars because I was billed $60 for a bottle of wine I never requested, received, or authorized for my room. I found the charge on my folio after leaving. We were rushing because our flight was late, so I called within a few hours to dispute it and left a message. I called again and sent two emails to accounts receivable. Six weeks later, I still haven’t received any response. I can only assume it was a mistake, but I’m disappointed. The property owes guests the courtesy of responding to billing questions.
The cathedral view from our 24th floor room was breathtaking. I never tired of it, whether morning, afternoon, or evening with the skyscrapers lit up. Room service food was great, with the quality coming through in the taste. The concierge chaps were an absolute joy and made the holiday for me. Every one of these legends was so helpful, and their stories of years gone by were mesmerizing. They made sure we were looked after at checkout too. First impressions on arrival were “WOW,” and checking out left us saying “WOOWWW.” Most of the staff were superb, especially CLARA, the kindest person I’ve ever met in the hotel world. She took time to talk with us, completely understood our silly little English traits, and quickly brought a huge silver platter with a kettle, cups, and everything needed for a good cup of tea. Even the tea bags were English ❤️ Huge shoutout to clara, thank you so much, we love you! One evening, the restaurant and bar staff turned us away sharply, saying “we have nothing for 30 mins,” then kept chatting with non-residents. I thought that was extremely rude. We tried asking a couple of questions but were ignored, as her conversation with a group of young men seemed more important than us, the people paying very strong money to experience the Lotte Palace restaurant we’d heard so much about. If you’re English and visiting NY for the first time, go BIG and stay at the Lotte Palace. It isn’t the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. Good old-fashioned service costs a premium everywhere these days, and the people at the Lottee deliver it in style. Thank you for a fantastic stay. ❤️👍
